Scooting..

These few weeks, I've seen more and more people scootering. I guess the spring is really here.

And just when I decided to put more consideration to buy a scooter, the 'world' seems to sway me even more to just quickly grab one. Take a look at this interesting news. Even in US, a lot more people picking up scooter. With 30 km/h scooter (I know it doesn't sound so fast), you won't need any driving license in Denmark. And imagine how much time I can save  for transport (maybe 20-40 minutes a day).

Currently I spent around 700 DKK a month for transportation. Although my place is quite comfortable in terms of location and public transportation coverage (it took me less than 30 minutes to office, less than 30 minutes to church and city center and less than 20 minutes to nearest shopping center and malls), the idea of having a scooter still buoys me over. With a scooter, I can expect an ROI within 1.5 to 2 years, assuming a litre gas is enough for 25 km and initial investment of 9000 DKK.

The only drawback of a scooter is that it only allows 1 person. Even though there's a space for a pillon rider, it is illegal to have 2 persons in a scooter in Denmark.

Thansen.dk is first on my list. We'll see how it goes...

Nancy's Farewell..

Yesterday was Nancy's last day. She's been with us for a whole year.

Irene, Nancy's boss, had kindly invited us for dinner, at her place, up at Annise Nord. It's located north west Copenhagen, around 40 minutes drive. More like rural area. She has a very nice country house, with a small forest, which she and her husband claim that to be self preserving.

I'd understand why she'd want to trade off 1.5 hour driving both ways to and from office daily. It is really a very nice house. She has a pool table, a ping pong table, bbq area, and nice garden on top of the beautiful view and the soothing forest.

With a nice view...

Look at the huge ‘garden’ behind Nancy and Sine..

A Great dinner...

And what's left of it.

Man Utd: the Champion!!

It was a drama, a very, very exciting finale of the Champions League. Ronaldo learned some lesson on humility (by missing a crucial penalty in the last shootout), Giggs showed that experience counts (the best penalty to me), Scholes played his deserved final after 9 years (he was suspended in 1999 final), and Rooney didn't make any shot (at all). As for John Terry, we all felt sorry for him. It's just not Chelsea's year.

The next question is, will Avram Grant be Chelsea's boss next year? He lost the Premier League, the Champions League, but I think to Roman Abramovich, Chelsea's owner, his biggest 'sin' was leaving Shevchenko on the bench in the CL final.

Final score, MUFC : CFC = 1:1, MU wins the penalty shootout 6:5.

Better Careful than Sorry...

I got this from a friend, and I removed the name for anonimity. It's in Indonesian, and I didn't bother to translate it, since the incident involving my friend's friend, an Indonesian who visit Indonesian Embassy in Singapore.

Seru banget tapi menakutkan!!!

I am sharing this for caution kalo kalian ke KBRI Singapore.

Elizabeth. Dan minta mama gw utk telp dr. Agus di Jakarta utk konsultasi (or something like that, gw kurang jelas sih). Dia demand my mom to transfer $$$ to him as soon as possible, ato kalo nggak, Txxx gak bisa dioperasi, dan akan mati dalam waktu 30min karena sudah parah banget.

Puji Tuhan mama gw gak gampang dikibuli (walau dia udah nangis-2).

Praise the Lord!!!

Morale of the story, better careful than sorry.

Strike three, and you're out

Following my post on MU's Champions League win, Chelsea and Avram Grant has strike 3 times in this season's finals. They lost to Tottenham in Carling Cup final, then fall short in Premier League at the last hurdle (there's nothing much they can do for that actually) and lastly, there was the Champions League drama.

So, we say farewell Mr. Grant. Many will remember him as the shadow of Mourinho. If he wins anything, that's because Mourinho left Chelsea as a strong team, if he doesn't, that's solely his fault. Otherwise, maybe he won't be remembered at all...
